You are right, its look like they have taken away the last hope of tracking...................... now we are exactly blind and won't know at all what's going on..... Still wait for couple days if this is an error otherwise if IRCC has made this change, then ............................................................................... long wait.

I gave my citizenship test last month & now I notice that my 'Background verification' status is again changed to 'In progress'. What does this mean & is there any one else who has a similar experience?

HiC,
want to know how the information is received from CIC after the status on the CIC tracker is updated to citizenship ceremony 'in progress' with the scheduled date of the event, Cic emails it or sends it through regular mail?

You should receive an email from them 7 days prior to your oath date

Yes I think they removed it in March 2022. The last time when I saw in March 2022, they said they are processing the applications which were received by them in the Month of September 2019. And later when I checked the processing time, they removed the processing month and only showed that the processing time to be 27 months. Even though now I am in 29th Month still no progress.

Congratulations; My application is almost within the same timeline in the first week of Jan 2020. However, the citizenship was held only in March 2022 and until now no further update. I don't know why there is so much delay in the processing.

Hi Everyone,
I have submitted my application in January 2020. I passed the test in March 2021. and since then I have not heard anything.
I thought, I am going to get my citizenship soon and I did not renew my PR card.
Now there is an emergency family issue in my home country that I need to go back there. Now I wonder how I can return back.

Is there any solution to follow up with the citizenship process or acquire another document to come back?

Thanks!
I think you can obtain PRTD ( temporary PR document ) from the Canadian Embassy of your country showing that your expired PR card and showing the proof that you resided in Canada 2 years in the last 5-year period. On this basis, they will issue the PRTD so that you can return to Canada. Alternatively, you can come to the USA ( if you have a US visa), and then you can take a rent-a-car and cross the land border (Windsor or Niagara Falls) or walk to the Canadian border, with an expired PR Card and provide the proof of medical reports, etc.. that you had to visit your country on an emergency and your citizenship application is under process. Hope it will provide you with some info. Thanks
