Does anyone know if there is a reliable source where we can get immigration news for Alberta ? Does something like that exist. Im getting tired of all the conspiracy theories that are going around.

Nothing other than the AINP website, which has been observed to not have be updated for two weeks after 9 Jan draw and until mid-Feb for the 22/29 Jan draws. Who knows why they take their merry time about it. When they publish NOI round information and update numbers waiting etc, they also issue a press release. So media outlets and the many websites about immigration update their information same day. Not exactly sure which “conspiracy theories” you mean?

No, as @Shaild has pointed out already, these are not the same things. The process is:
- submit EE profile,
- receive NOI (notification of interest) into EE profile as a message,
- reply by email with copy of NOI to say would like to apply,
- receive application instructions via email (called EOI “expression of interest”),
- submit EOI by post and with tracking services can determine when arrives at AINP offices in Edmonton,
- receive FN (file number) by email that serves as receipt and then use that reference number if need to send more documents or ask a question about application,
- immigration officer at AINP may contact employer or applicant to clarify anything at their discretion,
- receive PN certificate (provincial nomination), which comes as email with attachment and an update in your EE profile that you need to accept,
- at next EE draw that is usually every second Wednesday, receive ITA (invitation to apply) so then prepare/submit e-APR (electronic application for permanent residency).

We all know the feeling, sitting home helpless..but the process is pretty much straightforward and if you have a good consultant you have nothing to be worried about.

Great news this morning for me. Just got provincial nomination too! Got emails from AINP with certificate and from IRCC with message in account, accepted, +600 CRS appeared as soon as logged in again. Next step ITA! I’ve updated my timeline below...

EOI arrived at AINP: 31 Jan 2020
FN: 7 Feb 2020
Sent extra document: 8 Feb 2020 (this was because extra ECA for PhD finally came through on 8th from WES, so sent this with a covering letter and my file number)
