I would like to be added to this, also to point out the obvious that it's sad how slow the Canadian government works...

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on January 22, 2018.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on February 22, 2018.
3. We started processing your application on March 28, 2018.
4. We sent you a notice on April 20, 2018 to appear and write the citizenship test on May 14, 2018 at 12:30 PM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.
5. We sent you correspondence on April 25, 2018. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.


PS: I never received a book... lol

Also I emailed them back on the same email they sent me the invitation to go do my citizenship because it's been over 3 months since my passed citizenship test. They reply back yesterday:

"Thank you for contacting IRCC Edmonton through our inbox. You file is currently in queue to be reviewed by an officer for a final decision."

I have finally received the invitation for the test, on August 22nd, and the test date is October 4th.

Anyone who have written the test already can shed a light on the difficulty? Do I really need to know that much history?

you do. make sure u know the history, they won't ask crazy details but will ask about some events. take note of the side boxes in the chapters. better safe than sorry
