Hi Everyone:

One of my friend will be applying for his work permit extension.

He has applied for PR and hoping to get AOR this month. His PNP certificate has no employment restrictions and work permit is about to expire within four months.

So my question is :

Is AOR good enough to be considered for BOWP? or Does the applicant has to have the eligibility stage passed?

Thanks!
BOWP eligibility parameters

To be eligible for a BOWP, foreign nationals must
•be currently in Canada;
• have valid status on a work permit that is due to expire within the next four months;
•be the principal applicant on an APR under the FSWC, the CEC, the FSTC, the PNC (see note below), or one of the two caregiver classes;
•have completed one of the following APR stages: ◦their electronic application for permanent residence (e‑APR) submitted under Express Entry has passed the R10 completeness check; or
◦they have received a positive eligibility assessment on their paper APR submitted by mail under one of the economic classes above;

•have applied for an open work permit;
•have paid the work permit processing fee and the open work permit holder fee; and
•have provided, as applicable, evidence (e.g., nomination certificate) that their provincial nomination is unrestricted.

Paper APR: determining if a positive eligibility decision has been made

If the paper APR under one of the qualifying economic classes was submitted by mail prior to January 1, 2015, or was submitted outside of the Express Entry system, it must have a positive eligibility assessment in order for the foreign national to be eligible for a BOWP.

The positive eligibility assessment is considered to be made once the status of the Eligibility field in GCMS is set to “Passed” (or “Met” for FSWC applications submitted prior to January 1, 2015) or an Acknowledgment of Receipt letter or email has been sent to the applicant.

Applicants applying for a BOWP must include a copy of their Acknowledgment of Receipt letter with their open work permit application.

In my case (during my PR application process), GCMS notes didn't say eligibility passed until all other checks were cleared, which was almost at the end of the processing period.

so, my concern is ..Does CIC accepts just the AOR email/receipt and approve BOWP (considering all other conditions are met).

In my view getting an AOR doesn't mean the eligibility stage is passed.

just based on my understanding, as long as you got the AOR (considering all other conditions are met)... you are qualified to apply for BOWP... but of course it is still depends on VO...

I've also learned it from this forum... (http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/bowp-how-many-of-you-have-applied-and-received-it-successfully-t139027.3600.html)

Hi Everyone,

I am currently very tensed as I am not sure how to proceed with my BOWP application. Can you please guide/advise. Thanks a million in advance. Below is my status

Received PNP Nomination from Ontario as part of the Human Capital Stream - Dec 15, 2016
Invitation received for applying for PR - Dec 22, 2016
Submitted my PR Application on Jan 25, 2017 and got the AOR on the same day
Currently my Post Graduation Open Work permit expires on April 11, 2017

I have a full time job as a Software Developer since June 2014 here in Markham working for IBM. Since my Post Graduation Open Work permit is expiring soon I want to apply for BOWP but when I try to apply online there are few documents in the checklist which I am not sure were to get it from

1. Offer of Employment (required). I can provide the original offer letter
2. Provincial Nominee Program Certificate (PNC) I can provide the Nomination Letter I received
3. Letter of Support from Province or Territory ( Letter from the nominating province or territory that supports the issuance of the work permit.) I am not sure were do I get this from ? The only document I received was Nomination Certificate from Ontario which I mentioned above
4. Passport (required) I can provide this
5. Proof of medical exam (required) I can provide this
6. Digital photo (required) I can provide this
7. Proof that you Meet the Requirements of the Job Being Offered (required) (If your intended occupation in Canada is regulated, provide evidence that the responsible provincial, territorial or professional body has granted you the required licence or certification. Regulated occupations are also called professions, skilled trades or apprenticeable trades.) ] I am not sure were do I get this from either ?

you've mentioned that you've already got your AOR or Acknowledgment of Receipt... if that's the case you should answer the question... have you've been told...? by Yes

with the requirements that you have right now I think it's not for BOWP app... I think it's for extension of WP using Provincial Nominee Certificate...

Hello,

My OWP will be expired on March 2017, and I would like to apply for BOWP. I have nominee unrestricted letter and AOR. I quit my job last month and doesn't have any job offer at current time. Do I need to have job offer letter to apply for BOWP??? and if not what should I put in the form on the perspective employer section.

Thanks,

hello... after reading your message... I searched for a successful applicant here that just recently received his approved BOWP... he applied Jan03/17 and got it approved on Jan30/17... he said he also submitted just AOR and expired PNP certificate...

I also submitted expired PNP certificate and AOR.... I'm praying it will be approved soon as well... let's stay positive! =)

but I think expired PNP certificate is not a problem because it will be just a of the supporting documents that your employment have no restrictions and I think all of the PNP-PR applicants will really have expired PNP certificate before they can get PR...
