His health check up must be valid until the day he gets approved and LANDS in Canada. If the process takes longer than December 9 then his whole application expires and he has to re-apply all over again and pay the same fees. I'm guessing one possibility is they need more time to process his application that's why by doing another examination he can get a year extension.

Another possibility is maybe they changed their health check up requirements and need more information?

You can try to e-mail them but they may not answer you since he's within normal processing times (I assume). Personally I'd be getting ready to do another medical check up.

I have sent them an email, I know is hard for they to get back to you, I will also phone them this afternoon, never hurts to try...
But if I don't get an answer between today and tomorrow, HE is getting the exams again :-[

That can't be right . You would only has to submit a new medicals and not the whole application.

Meds are not expired yet but they are already asking them again
Maybe they are anticipating that his medical will expire before they can make a decision...

My husband went to have his exams already, and they expire on December 9 this year
But we just received an email asking him to go have the Medical exams again, they are not expired yet, do you think I should call CIC just in case they have forgot he had the exams already?

We are on the same boat. My wife did hers late last Nov. or early Dec (when the result came out) and she just got an email asking for redoing her medical again. it is still valid for a month and a half. I also sent them an email, but i doubt it will be of any use because they said they only respond back if your case exceeds the publicized 13 months processing time (in my case). I asked my wife to do the medical again.

but i was told some were approved 1 or 2 months after redoing the medical. So we could only hope so and do what they asked us to do.

Quick update - our ecas changed to DM on the PA side, and our MyCIC account shows all as closed/passed and the last line reads that the application has been approved.

We sent my wife's passport to Ottawa almost 2 weeks ago, so we're just waiting for it to come back now.

I see.. well mine is not IP yet and I haven't received such email. This is quite puzzling though. So the recipients of that particular email were just a few and selected? hmmmmm. :
