yes, for ottawa it seems "in process" means they have everything they need to issue the approval and DM means the approval has been mailed out. how long it take between the 2 depends on the visa officer. for ottawa, the trend for IP to DM and COPR received is mostly within 2 weeks, some people a little longer but not much. take a look at the ottawa spreadsheet, it will show how quickly the end actually happens!blueangel371115 said:Holy Cow!!! If it were bad news, I'm fairly certain you would already know it. The only people I've heard of getting bad news after a DM are people who did an interview that didn't go well. You can be fairly confident that the decision was favourable. I know that it's always a berve-wracking experience. I was very worried that Quebec was going to find some excuse to deny me a CSQ, but they didn't. One of my friends at church (government worker in Ottawa) told me that for Quebec to deny a CSQ to a spousal application would violate the Canadian constitution. He's likely right, though I would hate to have to fight a Supreme Court case if such a thing happened.blueangel371115 said:

I am and I did. The paperwork they sent me and I saw on the website, they ask you for your passport and COPR and they use the name that's on that. Of course, half of the people doing any type of paperwork regarding this rule don't even follow it properly. I'm probably going to wind up being a turd knowing me. I'm going to change it in 5yrs anyway ( unless I can get my husband to move) so this way it saves the court's time over a rule that shouldn't have passed anyway. I've already changed it on all my US documents, including my passport as I'm keeping my US citizenship and bank accounts. It's really the principle of the thing. What my name is, should be my choice and the government shouldn't get involved. But I'm not going to go there. So basically, I HAVE to change my COPR since the name on the passport and the passport number don't match.antho_2000 said:
I got it back and they did change it. From what I read, the federal trumps provincial. My CSQ has both listed, my CoPR is in my married name, even though it says that I'm going to Quebec. They had to as I had changed my US passport and the name and number must match and when you register for RAMQ, they take your CSQ, CoPR and passport. The RAMQ website, as of last week, even says can use your married name if you changed it before 1981 or you were married outside of the province and exercise your civil right to use it ( funny they consider it a civil right but won't let people do itblueangel371115 said:
