Sweet deal!!!! Congrats MzTee!!! I must say I am immensely jealous that you are over and done with the process now!!! But happy for you none the less :)

Amikety - how long from when you sent your PPR(and im assuming their request for financial records came in the one email?) back to them to decision made? Also - did they confirm receipt of your documents at all?

No receipt of documents or a reply to my email stating I'd sent documents. My ecas changed 20 days after PPR (and mailing back - we mailed same day - hubby refused to wait!).

Hey Guys!

I just arrived in Toronto yesterday at 5pm and I will share the landing experience.

Everything was so quick. They sent me to that special immigration room and I didn't stay there for more than 10 minutes.
The only question was if I had any problems with the police before.
After someone went to see me to do the Social Insurance Number.
I didn't do a list of belongs that I was carrying and they never asked for that. I just showed the landing card to customs and they told me to go.

I hope you are all landing soon!

My COPR has arrived in the mail. Woo hoo! :D

Yay Amikety congratulations!

And to you to, ththev, glad your landing was smooth and quick!

Hi, this is a public forum where people help each other with immigration advice and tips. You shouldn't post your phone number here. Scammers may find it.

You should probably go here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/information/offices/index.asp Find your visa office and contact them directly.

Congrats amikety!! I emailed Ottawa asking if they received my medical xray update the other day but they never replied... no telling how long I have to wait now :\

Hello there,
I have couple of doubts regd organizing my spousal VISA docs. I am planning to apply soon.

1. Are you guys arranging the application as per checklist order or separating according to Sponsor and Sponsored person's doc.

2. It says we have to provide 6 photos as per immigrations requirement, are you guys putting a date at the back of the photos or just the stamp from the photo lab.

Thanks for your help

I've added you. I'm going to ask some questions. All information is totally optional, so if you don't want to answer/don't feel comfortable, please don't feel any pressure to respond :D I just enjoy having as much information as possible...... KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!!! Rawr :P

1) What day was your application received by CIC (this will be in your AOR email/letter).
2) Do you want me to put in your destination city?
3) What day did you get your CQS, if you have it yet?
4) What "additional documents" were requested?

Most Visa Offices don't give stage 2 AOR. Not getting it is normal. Many of us consider any communication (whether initiated by us or the VO) to be Stage 2 AOR because at least this confirms they got your file. So your AOR can be 26-March-2013 if you like.

Ecas is unreliable and probably won't say "In Process" or "Decision Made" until you already get the visa in the mail.......... very annoying.

Thanks for your reply to my questions. Yes you can add in additional information, let me answer them here:

1) What day was your application received by CIC (this will be in your AOR email/letter).
I have not received an application received email or letter by CIC. My sponsor only received her sponsorship approval email/letter on Feb 26th, thats it.

2) Do you want me to put in your destination city?
Sure np: Montreal.

3) What day did you get your CQS, if you have it yet?
Funny story: We received the sponsorship approval letter on Feb 26th, that she was approved. However, if you had ticked the box you were moving to the Provence Québec, you would normally receive a letter that said to now also start applying for Québec. Our letter however, was the one meant for people that applied for all other provences. So my sponsor called Immigration Quebec herself and then they told us to send it in anyway. It was processed quickly and we received my CSQ on May 16th.

4) What "additional documents" were requested?
They requested an overview of all places I had travelled to and stayed for over a month, for the period of the last 10 years. This request was made directly to me by email. I returned it within 24h, requested a confirmation of receipt, but that was of course ignored. Since then it has been silent.

You can set the Stage 2 AOR on March 26th if you like, that's sounds logical.

I am rather dissapointed with how slow and difficult their processing system is. When my fiancé moved to Holland, the whole thing was said and done within 6 months. Also she could apply fromout Holland after arriving. So far the experience for us is slow, almost no communication and impersonal. There is no way to actually pickup the phone and ask for a status update, plus they dont update the website that is supposed to show the status either (grumpf). I remember I called the Dutch IND pretty much weekly for a status update, was never an issue. But im keeping my hopes up and hope to have the Visa before end of the year, lets all hope together and stay positive! :)

When you log into ecas, it will tell you what date CIC got your application. If you remember next time you're logged in, let me know :)

The only reason I ask is because the Spreadsheet won't keep accurate track of how long you've been in process without date of receipt.

It seems to me, it's very hit and miss. It depends a LOT on the work ethic of your individual case officer. I got a good one - very lucky.

Hi everyone! Just wondering how long does it normally take to get a PPR once ecas has changed to "in process" ? Thanks guys
