Hello! Glad I found this thread. Sent my wife's pr app and mine for sponsorship to Mississauga on Thursday, with it arriving on Friday. The waiting has begun, but it is such a relief to know it is in their hands now!

I'm curious... how large were most people's applications?? Many who know nothing about the process were telling me I was "over doing it", but I figured better safe than sorry!

you can see my full post as to how I did our application here: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/how-i-organized-our-applcation-and-a-summary-of-all-helpful-tips-i-have-learned-t92449.0.html

=) what about yours? don't worry, you'll find in the link i posted that some people are telling me its too much too but most people think its just on the average size.

I send my Applicants on Jan 23 (delivered), so waiting game for me... Wife(Sri lanka)

Hello! Wow, ok that makes me feel a little better. In total, the package weighed approximately 8 pounds, and I had to use a large cube shaped box :D. The majority of the weight was supporting documents, such as our skype history (message, video and telephone log), facebook, googletalk, email, whatsapp, phone bills ... We didn't have our wedding ceremony yet (frankly, I didn't want to have it and then come home without her), so I tried to include everything to prove it wasn't a marriage of convenience. Best of luck to you!

Woah... hehe, just kidding, that's fine, Ive seen many with application size such as yours. My hubby and I were not on LDR so we didn't have chat logs but if we were, our application would be as huge as yours, so no need to worry about the application being large , especially that you mentioned that you didn't have a wedding ceremony yet, it might be a red flag, so the more you could prove your genuine rel'p in more ways, then the better. ;D

oh please do.. thanks =)

:o pelipeli ... that is quite the application!!

I just got finished sealing my envelope up, and came here to post about it. :D

In total this application has taken me over 5 straight weeks each and every night. I cannot explain to even my closest friends how darn happy I am that it is sealed up and ready to mail tomorrow morning. No one can seem to understand exactly how much is involved in all this.

I didn't have to include chats and email messages and such, my application package is only about an inch thick! Now I'm worried it isn't big enough but I have gone over it way too many times :)

oh i know what you mean, it took months for me to prepare and when i post about it on FB my friends don't understand, I myself didn't think it was that stressful before I began preparing it. No don't worry, Application size depends on each situation or case, depends on the Visa Office too. as they say, quality over quantity. read around and you will see some have as small as 11 pages total and others have as big as 800 plus pages , and both are approved. =) Mine is just an average sized app, Many photos but not so much communication proof since we were not on LDR =) Good luck on sending it off tomorrow! Just sent mine a while ago =)

Thanks pelipeli, I just got finished reading your thread on the organization of your application package and then started double guessing myself. I told my husband I was opening it up and starting from scratch again tomorrow ;) Of course I wont. Each case is different so I will just fire this baby off and then start filing away all my copies so that I can see my dining room table again!

It is such a relief to have this all finished. It is going to be nice to be able to come home from work tomorrow and have NOTHING to do ;D

Congrats to you to have finally mailed off your application and everyone else in this group as well. It's going to be a long wait ahead and it's going to be exciting to see how everything goes for everyone!

Hi Guys :) Glad that I've found this site!

I am Canadian and sponsoring my wife who is from Europe... I Mailed away my application January 11, 2011 and received conformation from Canada Post stating that it has been successfully delivered to CIC-M on January 13,2011. Also for my timeline (as things happen)... I have already paid the Landing Fee ahead of time.. I heard that it can extend the whole process by up to 2 months if not included... I also have had the Medical Tests done October 31, 2011 and the doctor said that once Ottawa checks the results, they will forward the results to the V/O in Vienna Austria... So that should be there ahead of my application... hopefully that way, things will flow smoothly.
In my application for proof of being with each other... I only had 1 airline ticket (did not know from the start of my relationship that I should keep such things).. However I included all the Email Printouts of my E-tickets from Expedia, Selloffvacations etc.. I hope that proof is enough for them.. They can always call up and ask... and the pages of my passport with stamps showing entry into europe... My package was probably 1.5 - 2 KG... I think that I gave enough proof?? I also heard, historically that the waiting time for Family Sponsorship isn't always as high as it is now.. I've read 30-something days in the past.. hopefully it'll drop from 68 so we Januarians can be with our families A.S.A.P.! I'll inform you guys of the entire process as it happens to me, to help others going through this... All of you doing the same will really help calm me down :) Good Luck to you all.. we're all in this together! Thank goodness we have an outlet to talk to each other :) oh and 9 months in Vienna for 80% of the cases... Please, oh please lets hope we're the lucky ones who are finished well before that amount of time.. I'll go nuts!! :o

9 months would b magic timeline for me ;) some embassies have 27 months, 31 months, imagine that!!!!! so stay strong, it could be much worse :)
as for my update: i'm sick with flu, no energy to wrap up anything and hubby has looooooong working hours....so we're waiting for the weekend to be done and then send!!!!! it really depresses me to still see it around :/
good luck all!!!!!!!!!!

pelipeli, wow! Your application is very detailed apparently! Ours was probably 1/5 that size. I hope we did not leave anything out.
