Hey Jan applicants, my status changed today to Decision Made. I'm prepared for it to be bad news though. My post exam interviewer discovered I was 6 days under the 1095 required due to my own stupidity (I forgot a trip to New York).

Application Sent: Jan 22nd 2015
Exam: September 4th 2015
Decision Made: October 20th 2015

I hope they let this slide - that is only a small short fall and most likely they can see it was an honest mistake. Hopefully they have some grace and it will be fine!! All the best!

Hey Everyone! I am happy to report that i FINALLY got my test invite for November 4th at Scarborough Town Center Court. Applied from Mid-town Toronto. It seems we are having a little movement now...I hope all the other invites will come in shortly. My Timeline is below...my Ecas has not updated yet!

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on January 16, 2015.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on February 28, 2015.
We started processing your application on May 27, 2015.
Your file was transferred to the Scarborough Citizenship Operations office on June 4, 2015. The Scarborough Citizenship Operations office will contact you.

Technically, Harper is still the PM, but that government is now in caretaker mode as they prepare for the transition of the new government. When it's nearly complete, Harper will go to the Governor General to announce his resignation. After that, the Governor General will then ask Justin Trudeau to form the new government, and he will become Prime Minister at that point.

Oct 19th is a magical date my friends !!! My test invitation letter was sent on Oct 19th and I got my letter today to write the citizenship test on Oct 31st. I live in downtown Toronto and I applied on Jan 9th. I guess you will all receive your test invites soon. Good luck. #TeamJustin

The CIC office called me today, from the 647 area code, (Scarborough office, I believe) but I missed it while running some errands. I did return their call, but I got their voice mail, instead.

Makes me VERY curious as to what the call was about, but I have a sneaking suspicion that because I'm way up in Sault Ste. Marie, they might want to know if I'm willing to go to Scarborough for the oath ceremony, or if I want it here in town, when the itinerant services come around. I was kind of ambiguous about that question at the interview after completing my test, because although I would be willing to make the trip myself, I wanted my wife to be there for the ceremony. However, as her MS is getting pretty bad, I've had doubts as to her ability to travel that far.

After wrestling with that decision since September 2nd, I've concluded that I would be out of her mind to make her travel that far. If that was what the call was all about, perhaps my wait will be over soon? The interviewer told me 4-8 weeks, and I am starting week 8.....

I still didn't get that call back from them, but I now have a date for my citizenship oath ceremony: November 4th, at 10:30am.

I can't believe it, my status updated too! I'm scheduled to take the oath on November 9th!! :-D

Correction: My oath appointment is on November 5th. I just double checked.
