I did my landing in 2012 and returned to USA and now after 2 yrs planning to settle in CanadaHowever in these 2 yrs I got some assets that I did not mention or failed to mention in my goods to follow litssome of them are

1.My personal car worth $8000
2.Few gold bars worth $5000
Can I carry them now? Do I have to pay any duty.. I understand that I have to do the car import through riv.. but is there some advantage of having the car on goods to follow list vs not in there

if you have a FEW gold bars, this is significant in any country, and the authorities WILL ask you why you have a few of these. The standard gold bar is the 400-troy-ounce (12.4 kg or 438.9 ounces) Good Delivery gold bar, assuming this is the one you have, they are valued way beyond 5000 as you mention
