Hello,

Apologies if this has already been covered, I did some searching of the forums but could not find a definitive answer.

I am wondering if it is required to provide translations of entry/exit stamps on my passport that are not in English or French. I have seen conflicting information on this and the documentaion on the IRCC website is not clear.

Can anyone confirm from experience if the entry/exit stamps on a passport need to be translated?

I have stamps in my passport in Russian, Ukranian, Turkish, Spanish, Chinese and probably others... So I would probably get a new passport before going through the hassle of getting all of stamps translated and the translations certified.

I appreciate any help that can be provided.

In my understanding passports don't need to be translated, not even the biographical page.

In our case, our bio page has info in spanish and english (Nombre/Name).

Does the bio page on your passport have both languages? Your native one and english or french?

of course not

No need. You only need to submit the bio page
Not true.

You must submit the bio page + all pages with visas, markings or stamps. They will validate these against your travel history.

Thanks all, I have a UK passport so bio page is in English and I will proceed with submitting the passport without stamps translated.

The main source of confusion was this website: https://www.justforcanada.com/8-your-document-checklist-tips-and-advice.html , which states:

"You have to upload a clear and readable copy of the bio page of your passport or your travel document. You should scan every page that has a marking, visa, or stamp. No need to upload blank pages. Stamps that are not in English or French must be translated."

Not an official source. We do translation here in the DR and stamps are just translated as "stamp image on red ink", so I don't think it would proceed to do so!

Anyways, we didn't and got ppr.
