Hello everyone,
Background- I wrote ielts last sept and got required scores in listening speaking reading and writing. I am currently with my husband and son in the US. I have a family instability(due to some issues) and can loose my h4 dependent status in the US anytime which is why I am planning on moving to Canada. I am currently employed on an ead status in the US and confident that I can find another job in Canada upon interviewing.

My question is if we apply as a family i.e. me husband and son together and qualify for express entry score/points together as well (since spouse took the ielts but didnt get 8 score on one of the lsrw) I will be the primary.

Applying alone is not an option given my husband wants to apply along with me (me being the primary due to a better ielts score).

Can I move to Canada alone without the other dependents? We have not started the express entry perm processing yet but i wanted answers to these questions below so I can plan accordingly.

I guess my questions are below:-

1.Can i go to ca without dependents or during landing everyone should be present?

2. Will it affect my status in canada? Do both of us need to be there for a few years with the kid for my canada perm to get renewed?

3. If I am alone in Canada, and can prove that I am maintaining my status, will my canadian pr be renewed? (without dependents being present in CA)

Thanks in advance for everyone who take their time to help me out.

1. You can land before they do, but if you are applying together, they must land before their COPRs expire.

2. No. Each person must meet their own residency obligation. However, if your plan is to wait "a few years" before they move to Canada, you may want to look into applying alone, since they will need to visit Canada at least once before their COPRs expire and then must be in Canada for 2 of every five years.

3. Yes. Your PR is yours and you must meet your residency obligation. They must meet theirs.

1. Yes. You can include them as non-accompanying, which means that they will not get PR with you. You could then choose to sponsor them later on.

2. No and no.

3. Yes.

as per your concerns its better to process your pr currently , and can later consider your dependents
