Hey guys! I'm just feeling a little anxious about our application and looking for reassurance!

We got SA on October 25th and our file was sent to Mexico City VO. I know that an AOR2 from Mexico is not always sent. But the PA side on ECAS has not changed to In Process yet... Is that normal? It's been 44 days since SA... Should I call CIC?

Could they still return our application at this point?

Let me answer this one (again; note my signature). It's obviously a failed bulk update / upload to ECAS. It recurred several times in the last week around noon. If it's a problem, then we ALL have a problem :).

Sorry I don't get what you mean about it being a problem for ALL?

Our Principal Applicant side on ECAS is stuck on Application Received... Never changed to In Process. You're saying that's normal, even 6 weeks after SA?

In the last week the same problem has shown up with ECAS and the SA side... sorry bout that.

I would say it's no doubt normal.. Did you try to link/log onto myCIC? ECAS is not up to date at all (see my signature ;) ).

Yeah I'm all linked in everywhere... But MyCIC doesn't really say anything does it? It's been saying that same darn thing for almost 2 months now..

I'm just concerned that our file has been sitting somewhere in the Mexico VO for about a month now and they can't be bothered to change it to "In Process"? Ugh...

yes, this is normal. ECAS is not reliable and really shouldn't be used to determine anything about your process. there are many people who land and still have "in process" or "application received". it means nothing, stop worrying about it and assume that this process will be mostly in the dark without any confirmation about what's going on with your file.

it is not a priority to cic to update ecas. it is seen as a "courtesy" and not a way to track application process.

There is more verbosity in myCIC. And yes, sitting with no movement for 2 months is normal. myCIC for us has been virtually stagnant since July. Save for the change of Medical "Not Needed At This Time" to "Passed".

I didn't know this... good to know.

I'm starting to understand that the saying "No news, is good news" is true to this process, am I right?

They have to issue a document request, an interview, a procedural fairness warning (so LOTS of notice) before anything like a refusal can happen. If you don't get any of those, don't worry :).

Can they still return our application at this point? Or since we are past SA should be ok? I'm only worried about this because the postal service in Guatemala isn't working at the moment :p

They started processing it. You have SA. So, nope.

Hah, thanks. :)

I have answered the "ECAS is broken! Sponsorship details only has 1 line" query about every hour or two in the last week. When I answered it about 2 hours ago, I decided it needed to be in my signature.
