I heard this from someone with a work permit (semi-skilled level) here in Alberta. He said there is a total of 4 year limit on work permit and you cannot extend beyond that point.

Is this true? Does anyone know about this regulation?

I thought you could keep extending work permit as long as LMO is positive and you have a job offer.

Please advice. Thanks.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I have never heard of a 4 year limit but there used to be a limit of 24 months that you could work and then you had to go home for 4 months before being able to get another work permit under low-skilled. From what I have heard, they have now lifted this condition although seasonal agricultural workers need a new work permit every season.

You can look at the FAQ at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/faq/work/index.asp#low and look at the first question in particular and question 6.

It is a proposal from the Minister, hasn't passed into law.
