If they requested his passport they are probably ready to issue his visa. If they haven't requested a new Police Certificate, then don't worry about it.

Extend the date of what? The police clearance? PMM is telling you that it probably isn't necessary. You have to wait and see what they will ask for, if anything. And no, you can't extend the date of validity of a police clearance.

I think that means that they're all done with the police certificate. Unless there's some other problem they have yet to tell you about, you don't need a new one.

I'm sorry I made a mistake. It's the medical that determines the date for the visa exp. So I am wondering if there's a way to extend that date.

No you cant extend the date of anything in this process.SO he has to land before the date they give him,if he has to do things in his home country he still has to land then go back.You have to understand it from their point of view.You did this process to get into Canada as a permanent resident,and they are giving you this chance,if you blow the chance then thats your choice you will have to do the process again.
The only way you can ever get an extension on the timeline where you land is tell them you cant land on that date,then they will tell you to redo your medical and they will base the visa on that one,but thats up to the IO if he or she even wants to.And of course it will cause a delay as they have to send you forms for the medical you will have to pay the costs again.
And if it expires on October 1st then they are asking for the passport to put the visa in and he will have to land before Oct 1st no exceptions.

Amibhi you must tell your husband to land by October 1st. You have waited and been through a lot of time already. If he does not land you have to start all over again and possibly wait another 6 months and of course so much more money on new medical. There is no extending the time for medicals. His Visa will expire when his medical expires. He needs to send passport now today if he has not already as it took my husband about 16 days (10-12 business days) before he got his passport back. Today is Sept 2 and he will be lucky if he gets passport back from cairo by Sept 20th. Tell him to come to Canada by October 1st and stay a couple weeks then go back if he has to. I'm not trying to sound like a bitch but why would your husband not want or be able to come to canada by october 1st anyways. He should be prepared by now to come to Canada as soon as he got his Visa. Well best of luck hope all works out and he gets here in time

Cairo is around 11 months to complete,you may not hear anything through the whole process,some visa offices never update the ecas until the end.So until it has gone pass the 11 months there is nothing much you can do but wait.you already have 2 gone 9 to go,be patient they may even have it done sooner.
