Hi there,

I know we have this forum for CEC, but what about IEC (International Experience Canada), its not clear which forum needs to be used for that. I would like to network with other IEC'ers and possibly join a WhatsApp group if there is one.

Also, my original understanding was:

CEC - Canadians wanting to study abroad
IEC - Non-canadians wanting to study in Canada.

Although I heard that IEC is also for Canadians studying abroad, so im a bit confused on this now.

CEC is for foreigners who have studied and/or worked in Canada.

IEC is only for temporarily working and living in Canada for a period of 12 or 24 months and ages 18-30 or 18-35 depending which country applicant is from. It is not a study permit although you could study for a very limited time not sure how long but maybe 6 months maximum and cannot be part of a longer course http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=931&top=25 . CEC is for permanent residence applications http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/iec/index.asp?country=hk

IEC posts can be found in the Foreign Workers section of the forum. CEC is an immigration program.
