dear guys,

I saw the Application process time in the CIC site and it says it takes 80 months to get my application done in india .. is that right?? Means i need 6 and half years to get my application??

The guys in the interview promised that it will take 2 months and when i asked them about it by email few months after the interview they said it will take several weeks .. now its almost 1 year from the interview

Please help me answering my question if i have to wait for 6 years!! Because im already overstaying in india and my indian visa is expired?

Regards

Well that timeframe is outrageous

I have a medical degree ,28 male that kills all my chances of going to medical school if i ever get to wait for 7 years .

Do you know if i go back to my country and apply for student visa for post graduate programm will i get something?

Even if you arrived tomorrow you would most likely have to redo some portion of an undergraduate degree and do the MCAT before applying to medical school in Canada. It is very competitive to get into a Canadian medical school because there are not many spots. Many Canadians go abroad. Yes you could apply to do a fellowship or post grad if you are accepted. You would still not be licensed to practice medicine in Canada. To come in as a foreign trained doctor you will have to write and pay for multiple exams and then try and get a supervised residency spot. If you are a specialist you will most likely not get a spot. There may be a way to just enter the residency pool after the canadian students have matched up. Foreign trained medical students wanting to a residency are usually limited GP, OB maybe a few others but at a smaller centre or rural area. If you are a trained physicians why not try to work in a gulf country. They are always looking for health care workers.

Unfortunately your previous refugee status will make getting a student visa very difficult. Have you done a residency if it is required in India? If you are able to practice medicine I would suggest working as a doctor in one of many countries. I suggested a gulf country because the standard of living and pay is quite high. Once you have worked you could apply to immigrate to Canada but unfortunately the road to practicing practicing medicine in Canada will be filled with obstacles. Is there a reason that you need to immigrate to Canada. You may be able to move to the US under the J1 Visa program. Hope this is helpful.
