we had applied and papers are sent 2 months ago but didnt receive any notice yet if my partner is eligible for sponsorship..

An application to sponsor a same-sex partner gets the same treatment as one for a heterosexual couple. That is the official position, anyway. 2 months is a bit over the average processing times for Mississauga, though. Maybe wait a couple of more weeks, since it could be a mail delay, then inquire.

how long should it takes for the processing time from missasauga..will my partner receive a call or mail from missasauga..need help

Wait until Monday and have your partner call CIC's call centre, that is if they live inside of Canada, the number is 1-888-242‑2100.open 8am-4pm Mine was over the wait period so i decided to give a call just to make sure they received it at least and they have, they just haven't made a decision yet. good luck

thanks..will try to give a call on monday..he was financially qualified for sponsorship,,i hope there will be a feedback soon..hard being apart from your love..

I know how you feel, same sex applicant here as well. It's suppose to be treated equally, but sometimes you cant help but worry.

We have gone through the process. Had absolutely no problems. We just recently received our ppr request.

It was on the same time line as everyone else.

I wish you the very best of luck. I am sure you will be fine!

Same sex couple here as well. Relatively complicated case.

We were asked for additional information from our IO. We just got the CAIPS notes and she got our personal information switched. Based on the letter we got from her it was like she didn't look at our complete package because she is asking information for we have already given or explained that we do not have due our circumstances.

So we are resending original information along with other stuff she is asking for because we now have it.

That being said we are being asked for the additional information along the same timelines as hetero people that get an additional information request.

So if she is a phobe she will be a phobe buried under a mountain of paperwork. Because apparently 11.5 pounds was just not enough.

Good luck and think positive.

awww.. you guys are so cute.

We are a same-sex couple too with the exception that I have been waiting over two years now for my Visa and still counting from a VO that processes most applications in under 12-18 months. It very well seems I may have to do a 3rd set of medicals.

I sometime beg to differ if the office I am going through in the Caribbean has phobias toward a certain class of applicants.

One thing I can say. If you use text messaging on your smart phones. Go buy the app that allows you to download the messages.

We did this for round two of information. If you look at the 11,000 plus messages between my partner, myself and her son you can that we live together and operate as a family unit.

Not all of us have the ability to be we are queer and we are here get over it.

And I found out that not all IOs are created equal. You can get an IO that is not Canadian but from your home country that has all the local prejudices fully intact.
