Is round-ticket needed to enter Canada with a study permit and open-work permit?

I will be traveling to Canada with a study permit in August; my spouse will be traveling with me with an open work permit.

Can we enter Canada with one-way ticket or is it a must for both of us to show returning tickets at the border?
