My wife is not employed and living with me as a housewife. She is going to sponsor me, she and my son lives with me outside Canada. Is my Son dependent on me since he is already a born Canadian or is he dependent of my wife(sponsor) ?

Also also we have to mention number of family members and persons included in undertaking in effect in form - IMM5481, so how are we going to answer that part on the same form 5(A) and 6 (b).

please please help .

1. The child is a Canadian, so is not included in the application, (you should re-read the instructions) he is only included on the IMM 5406.

Apologies for ignorance but I have got confused. What should we say on from 5481 question 6(B) ? should we say 0 ?

And to whom my son is dependent ? on me (principle application) or on my wife (sponsor)

please clarify

I don't have children, but if I were you, I would put 1 for question 6(B) of the sponsor financial evaluation. Even if the son is Canadian citizen, he is still a dependent of both your wife (the sponsor) and you. The only difference is that you don't include him in the immigration application. Since form 5481 is for the sponsor and not the immigrant, I think you should include him as a dependent.

But don't worry, the financial requirements are only in the case where the principal applicant (you) has children of his own from a previous relationship (who are not Canadian citizens).

You only list your canadian child in the Additional Family IMM5406 under section B and in IMM5481 6. B) as 1. Provide details about the child on back of IMM5481.
