hi all,

this is hrithik mailing again from canada.

i am worried about the occupation skill.

I am a telecom software engineer working for past 4 years.
i live in canada for past 18 months (1.5yrs).
was about to apply for PR but i scored less in IELTS so have applied to write the test again on DEC 13th...

so

Can i go ahead and write the IELTS exam and then apply for immigration ? or
Do i need to hold or stop to think about Immigration to canada ? or
Is there any other way to apply or any idea...?

i would be thankful..if you guys reply for this...

thanks in advance
Hrithik

if you like to stay in Canada, then apply. where is the problem?
since u've been working there for more than a year, you dont have to worry about the list of 38 occupations. You may look for PMP program for fast processing.
Good luck

Go ahead and apply. You can see at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp that if you have been in Canada for 1 year or more on a temporary permit, you don't need your occupation to be on the list of 38. Also they have lowered the points requirements for IELTS. Instead of getting 7.0 in every category to get full points, you now need 7.5 for listening but only 6.5 for everything else. You can see this at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG72.asp around the middle of the page.
