Situation:
My mother arrived with her family to Canada in 1974 as a landed immigrant. In 1982 they all left and came back to Australia except for my mums brother who remained.
1997-2000 my mother travelled back to visit and she remembers the officer getting mad because "most immigrants dream of coming to Canada once and her family was given 2 opportunities" possibly referring to the fact that PR was abandoned
I guess I am trying to find out whether or not this officer revoked my mother's PR and I want to know if there's a way to find out.
I found my mother's original landing record which I believe is proof of PR.
We are crossing from the US into Canada by land in a few months.
Is there any chance she after 40 years is still a PR? How can I tell if it's been revoked?
The only communication I've had with IRCC was submitting a request a year ago asking if my mother ever became a Canadian citizen and then I requested my grandpa's landing record from the archives and that was it...
Thanks everyone!
