No you don’t need a license.

OK.Thanks. But in SNIP in-demand occupation list they are saying that licence is required for NOC code 2173,2175

Can you include the source. You didn’t mention software engineer which is a regulated profession versus software developper.

NOC 2173 requires CIPS or APEGS license for SINP depending on your profession. NOC 2175 requires CIPS. The SINP website outlines the licensing required and steps to take.

Yo require license to apply for SINP for 2173, 2174 and 2175 but to work as SW Developer (2174) in SK, you don't require a license. I know because my husband and I are both NOC 2174 and I just got a SINP nomination (with CIPS license) under that NOC. My husband has also been getting quite a few offers and interviews and none has asked for licensing.

You definitely need license for 2173 as Engineering is a licensed profession in Canada. You can check for job postings on jobbank.ca and see the requirements for jobs that fall under NOC 2173/75...

What is your SINP score?

I'm a software dev working in Saskatchewan and there is no license requirement. I didn't come via SINP so for the province application it might be different.

To get a nomination, SINP requires licenses through CIPS or APEGS depending on NOC.
