Hi everyone ,

It's my first post here, n im expecting some answers which will help me decide. My husband will soon be filing my & my 2 year old daughter's case from Quebec.
He thinks i should do a french language course as it might help in immigration. Could some one tell me is this so ? Will it help in a speedy immigration if i do it ?
And also ( excuse me for my ignorance , im pretty new to all dis ) how long does it normally take for spouse immigration from pakistan ??

thanks in adv :)

Learning French won't speed up your immigration process or better your chances, however, if you are moving to a French province, obviously it will be in your best interest to speak the language.

There is no "normal" time for immigration . I've seen some from Pakistan go through in 2 months, others in 8 months, others take over a year, it all depends on your case and the VO processing it. All you can do is put together the best application you can from your end and reduce the likelihood of it being delayed due to an error on your end.

if u want to integrate in the society at maximum, start working, etc then YES...when u will fill in the Quebec forms u (the applicant) will even sign a paper saying that u will

I would say yes if you are moving to Quebec, its a primarily french speaking province and it will be easier for you to adjust and understand when you get there, street signs, road signs ect are all in french and there is a large number of people that do not speak english. A good thing to know if that Quebecois french is different from persian french, it has alot more slang, there are websites for learning Canadian french, try and seek them out and familiarize yourself with the basics to get by, such as greetings, asking for the bathroom, real basics. It may not help with the immigration process but it will help you soooo much once you land :) Good luck !
