I'm an F1 who's been in the states for 10 years that's periodically been working cash jobs to support myself. I never used my SSN though. So far so good but:
I had OPT (work permit after bachelors) in 2022 and reported a cashier job at a gas station as a "consumer insight analyst intern" to make it related to my degree. Since US-Canada share records, I plan to truthfully list cashier in the application BUT debating if a separate letter explaining the discrepancy between US SEVIS records and application is necessary as that is explicitly highlighting a violation. Is it a bad idea to report the other cash jobs I've worked through the years as well? I've never used my SSN though so there's no evidence for what it's worth.
So while I've technically violated my F1, my records are clean as I since got a masters and also another OPT approved since the first OPT. Am I shooting myself in the foot if I list the various cash jobs and/ or explicitly admit In a letter that the consumer insights analyst intern title was just a play to maintain my status? That's misrepresentation and an f1 violation but would it count since it's not in Canada?
Any input at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
