Hello,

I am waiting my study permit extension. I have applied using my current passport which will expire in November 2017.

However, I know that the new study permit I am waiting to get will not exceed November 2017 and since right now I am in my home country, I wonder if I can renew my passport and cancel the current one.

My question is, will it affect the new study permit I would get since it's marked on it the passport number and of course it will be my current passport's ?

Will I face problems in the airport when I come back ? ( Note that I always have a valid TRV on my current passport and I will bring both with me in the airport )

Thank you

You will get your extension valid by Nov 2017.
I would not risk current permit now. let them issue you your SP valid to Nov 2017 , get your new passport in 2017 and apply for extension again in 2017.

Same thing I was thinking. Take it YoussefZaky!!!

My new study permit will be until August 2017 because I have 2 semesters left. And I won't need to extend it again anyway since I will be graduated.

But I am afraid to renew my passport and then I find out that I have to change my study permit and do other applications etc..

I would apply for CSQ 6 month before graduation ( on january 2017 ) and then for the PR or I would go thro PGWP.
