I'm currently in the process of applying for a study permit. My parents are considering to apply for a visitor visa after I get approved because they want to be there for my sibling's graudation which is expected to be at the end of October (from previous years' dates).
My question is whether that's a valid reason to apply for a visitor visa at this time ? My sibling will apply for PGWP but then if my parents' visitor visas are not approved by the time graduation happens, then the reason is completely invalid and I'm afraid it will lead to refusal. The recently updated processing time for my country is only 40 days, but I have no idea if they are processing non essential travel which I assume this will be.
Another doubt I have is whether a PGWP holder whom will invite his/her parents be considered to "help" them immigrate which reduces ties to home country and leads to a refusal ? My parents have not met my sibling for 4 years since moving to Canada so perhaps that might be a solid reason ? Or will it be better to just mention that the purpose is for tourism ?They do have valid US B1/B2 visas and once applied for a Canadian visitor visa but that was back in the 90s if that helps anyways.
