Is criminal history ll effect on sponsorship?

My husband hv canada PR...recently we got married in pakistan..currently m living in bahrain wd my parents...m planning to visit my husband but he have criminal history in canada bcoz of dat he got restricted dat he cant sponsor anyone...coming aug his restricuion time is going to finish...my question is... Will my husband criminal history ll effect on sponsorship...he said one more year they need for pardon case...i really dont know wats true....i am really upset wat to do...can i go on visit visa n then he can apply for PR inside canada, is it possible?
