Hi everyone :)

So, here's the thing:

• Applied for PR on June 17 - the estimated time that day said 57 days to process the application

• 61 days passed, not heard from them yet (just an email saying it was updated, received August 18th)

• The medical examination status changed to: pass (in the last few days let's say between August 16th and 18th)

So, obviously, given the long time passed, and the above updates, they are working on my application. This is sure.

However, if I go here:

https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=

And try to check the status of my application, and entry all the data correctly, it says:

We were not able to identify you using the information you provided

The system says

There could be three possible reasons:
  • Please be sure the information you entered is correct and then try again.
  • This service is only available to clients with applications in process. We may have received your application but not begun processing it yet. The following link may help you determine if your application is being processed:
    Application Processing Times
  • At this time, you may use this on-line service if you have:
    • sponsored a member of the family class;
    • applied for permanent residence from within or outside Canada;
So,

1) The information is correct (I tried several times, and using different sets of data, not only the application number)

2) Yes, my application definitely is in process (see above)

3) Yes, my situation meets the second condition (PR from within Canada).

Question:

Why does it say that if the only "three possible" reasons to say that do not apply to my situation?

Thanks.

57 days refers to the PR card, not EE application, which takes an average of 6 months.

Your medical was passed in 2 months, which is normal

Don't know if anyone uses that online service tool. MyCIC account is where you should keep an eye on.

I see. However, a friend of mine got the PR via EE in 1 month!

Also, I heard from various sources that EE was supposed to have been dramatically improved in terms of speed... did any change occur?

That friend of yours had just win the jack-pot on EE. Don't expect yourself to win the jack-pot. Express entry is not first come first serve, just put your expectation at 6 months.

That tool is not used for EE cases. The only place to check status of an EE PR application is the myCIC account.

ok thanks!

Another question, if I may. Online, every forum page talking about time, mention "ECAS"... if you got ECAS, if ECAS is in process...

What the butternut is this ECAS?

Thanks!

ECAS stands from Electronic Client Application Status. This on-line service allows Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) clients to view securely the status of their immigration and/or citizenship application(s) on-line, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; anytime, anywhere.

I don't know what is ECAS so I don't think it is important though. It may stands for Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) with the (s) for plural.

@mgnlky

Ouch but it's that! It's the form I talked about in this thread...

How is it possible the ECAS says:

We were not able to identify you using the information you provided.

if it is being processed (as I said above)?

Expected best / average / worst processing time calculators ask what my ECAS says. Mine doesn't say anything.

Thanks

I think that thing is what left from the "World War II", just kidding. CIC introduced Express Entry with myCIC since 2015. You should only use that. If you want to know every details and very movements happen to your application, order a GCMS note.

woo what's a GCMS note?

Can I order it at any time, or should 6 months have passed?

@OdinNguyen : EDIT:
I found info about it, thanks for the suggestion! (y)
