My step daughter moved to Canada with her mother, who's mother (childs grandma)is a canadian citizen, in Dec 2011.
My partner who has parental responsiblity in uk agreed to this, as long as said child who is 15 returned to uk every year for 3 weeks in summer holidays to visit her dad and siblings, They both signed a legal document agreeing to this.
We are now been told that his daughter wont now be able to leave Canada for a holiday for another year and 3 months, due to her awaiting pr.
We would be greatful for some information regarding how accurate this information is?
Finding information on the net seems to be hard to come by, and relations with childs mother is at an all time low.
thanks

If she has an inland application for PR, it is possible that they are advised not to travel but if she has a UK passport, she is visa exempt to Canada so the risk of not getting back in is minimal.
