IRCC Scarborough Applicants - Online Test/Interview/DM/Oath

Scarborough officers are awesome. They really mean business. They don't delay things if there's no reason to do so. I am sure that the work culture in Scarborough team is much different, even better, than other GTA offices.

Someone I know did interview with other GTA office (not Mississauga) and was told that Oath will resume in September when everything opens up.....

I second that. I’ve been very impressed with the prompt support and customer service I received from my Immigration Officer since the interview process. I know they’ve been putting in long hours responding to late night requests and following up first thing in the morning. Even my experience with the Contact Centre has by and large been positive so far.

We have been sworn in this morning. There were 41 participants and it took 1 hour from start to end.

Looking at stats here I'm hoping for 1-1.5 weeks tops. Dunno, but I'm eager to lay my hands on smth physical rather than zoom

Yes. The day I got my Oath invite, I filled up passport application. I just need citizenship certificate number, pics and guarantor signatures to get over with the last step.

They asked me to keep signed Oath form until the certificate comes so keep them in sight.

Congrats to both of you!!! 12 more days of waiting for me - I'm expecting my invitation by Friday or Monday next week - they normally send it 7-10 days before the actual ceremony.

If both of you live in the GTA, it's possible that it would come by the end of the week or early next week No notable delays with Canada Post these days

It seems like being interviewed by an officer is a good thing , at least you have someone to talk to and email to. Being DM without interview not only made the process not faster towards oath , but also less transparent when it comes to waiting time .

But at least you have the peace of mind that you don't need to talk to an officer and you know everything in your file is all good!

Took my oath yesterday - officially a Canadian now! Here is my timeline (Scarborough Office).

Application sent: Nov 2019
AOR: Feb 18, 2020
In Process: Feb 28, 2020
Test Invite: March 3, 2021
Test completed: March 13
DM: March 18
Oath invite: April 19
Oath April 27

is my observation right? I see only either single (or) family of (2) applicants are getting lots of test and oath invites. Family of 3 and above applied together are stuck, and no movement. Any one with family of 3 and above applied together in 2019 (Aug-Dec) and received test invite recently from Scarbro?

To give you some hope:

I dont know if you guys recall my situation (required urgent travel for pregnancy complications). After taking in all your suggestions and deliberating I went ahead and emailed my officer in detail about my situation with all my medical reports attached. I got a very positive response and will post my story once I am done with the full process.
To give you some hope, all I can say is there is an Oath scheduled for 10th May, and my DM was end of March too .

My officer was extremely helpful and nice, during our interview too. If you had good feelers during your interview, I would say dont be nervous about emailing your officer to inquire, the worst is that they ask you to wait to be called..

Yay 12 more days and it will fly..dont worry. ..just go through instructions a day before and have all IDs, PR cards , scissors ready. I have a minor kid and officer asked home country passport (which somehow I kept in my kitty). So if you have minor kids, keep their home country passports ready just in case....
