I got an invite for a virtual interview on April 28. Do I have to be in Canada for that interview? It does not say a word about it in the instructions.
Also, is there any chance I will have a virtual oath the same day?

Got my email after 10am
I was following your email religiously (since you told us about the time/date of your oath invitation), and true to form I just got my virtual oath invite just now! (2:30 pm Monday April 17 - also exactly one week before the oath). Phew!! what a relief!

Just for the record, my oath is on Monday, April 24th, 2023.

Interview is to confirm your identity and to finalize LPP. No oath will be conducted on the day of the interview.

Here I would also advocate we should send email to our processing office to ask if the scheduled oath ceremonies would be canceled if the strike really happens from Wednesday!

Thanks!

Congrats! My LPP hasn't started. Any idea why?

Applied Sep 2021, Test June 2022 and background 2 months ago. Just waiting on LPP.
Your timeline seems similar to mine, my background was cleared the start of March.

Fingers crossed your LPP completes soon!

Unfortunately my LPP is "not started" so it's not being processed and my file is apparently "in queue for review". Everyone I've seen has LPP "in progress" after the delayed background, with a decision made in a month or so. Very stressed :-(

"In the event of a labour disruption, like most Government of Canada services, most IRCC services would be impacted"

See list of services that will be impacted, they include application processing and citizenship ceremonies

If no deal by 9pm today, strike starts 12:01am per union president
