I applied for my kids to become Canadian citizens (I got my Citizenship a year ago). We just got an email from IRCC requesting their PR cards to continue processing the application. We must submit them within 60 days. My concern is they won't have any proof of status until they become Canadian. I was not required to give mine up until the citizenship ceremony. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thank you for any replies!

Coincidentally I just got the same. I think it's normal and since there may he no citizenship ceremony for the children, this is what they do.

You should retain the copr though.

Thank you for your reply. I wonder how long it is taking these days from the PR card request until Citizenship...

armoured - thanks! I mis-posted this in the wrong forum, I think. Going to the other board now...

Wanted to follow up on this question to let people know that it only took 1 month from the time we had to submit the PR cards to citizenship certificate receipt!!
