I am an international student in canada and my study is only for like 8 months but it's still called one year for that . I want to invite my father to come here whether it could be on graduation ceremony or any other invitation form . Please help me out how shuld i invite him as i haven't met him since last 6 years as he resides in kuwait and i was in india and now am here in canada since last month

The short answer is yes. You can build up a good case and invite him to your graduation. It is a very valid case. I applied for my parents' visitor visa when I was a student and they got approval.

But it not only depends on that. Approvals also depend on travel history, economic support, ties to the home country, and others.

He should show ties to his home country such as employment, property ownership and other assets - and also show he has sufficient funds to pay for his trip to Canada. Keep the trip to Canada to a reasonable length as well.

So he is a Temporary Resident of Kuwait and Since he is working in Kuwait, you can show his employment proofs and pay stubs this establishes that he will leave Canada. Also submit the copy of Kuwait Visa or work permits.

Yes you can but who so ever is filing the application should make it rock solid to avoid rejection. Note he should apply from Kuwait and not from India since he is staying in Kuwait for work.

if he wants to visit you, and can give enough proof of his tie outside of Canada, apply for a visitor visa.
granduation ceremony doesn't need to be the reason for a trip to visit his son.
Remember that this is his application. He needs to show that he has enough funds and have a job to return to after visitng.

And like how much funds will be needed according to you

Hi,
Did your parent get approval for visitor visa ? Could you outline the requirements and what documents you provided from your end?

Thank you

It always comes down to their personal profile like any other visitor. Proof of funds, ties to their home country (employment, property ownership, dependents in their home country, etc.) as well as things like their international travel history (especially to countries like US, UK, Australia, etc.). Would suggest they limit their visit to 2-3 weeks especially if they haven’t visited Canada before.
