I want to visit a friend in Canada during the summer holidays, I want to find out if it is a must that I get an invitation letter before my application can be considered.

Why do they need an invitation letter?? What if the invited party has some drawbacks? Can visa rejected by the reason saying the invited party is not worth inviting???

A Letter of Invitation is required for certain countries. And a person can be refused a Visa for a number of reasons. I have been wonder what would happen if a person was granted a Visitor's Visa and married well here. Would they have to return to their country and re-apply to come back to Canada?
