Hello new here and in the process of preparing all the documents for my wife's PR. (just about ready to send it)
She is a Citizen of the Philippines and a current resident of Thailand for about 8 years. We originally met online Feb of 2013 I went there in July 2013 for a couple of weeks and knew we were right for each other, I proposed and she accepted. I returned in April of this year and we were married in Thailand. This may seem to have happened too quick to people looking in. However we know we are right for each other.

After our marriage we applied for her Thai police certificate, Had our marriage certificate translated to English and Authenticated by DFA in Thailand and Certified by the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok as well. I have copies of all Government Documents most are Certified by at least two Governments. I have at least 70 photos from 2013 and 2014 of us together and some of her family and friends that are also in Thailand and of course our marriage reception and the Thai civil ceremony and places we have spent time together. I have also kept all receipts boarding passes etc. I have logged and printed slightly over 1500pgs up to date so far of skype communications. Most are showing daily interaction.

#1 Before going to Thailand I had called CIC and explained her status about her being a resident there. I asked about the medical if it was needed right away. I was told because she is out of her country of citizenship it was acceptable not to submit the medical and that Manila would send a request to her in Thailand to have it done, We did not have the medical done as it takes roughly a month to get it back plus at that time we had to be care full of where we were in Bangkok due to civil unrest.

After reading many posts here I am bit worried as it seems it should be sent with the application. I can not have her get it done now as the time it takes to have it done and sent over to me both of her police clearances from Thailand and the Philippines the 3mth.expiration will pass. The one from Thailand was difficult to get as it was not permitted at the Royal Thai Police office to be applied for unless I was there with her in person. (she tried once before I arrived )
Is this going to be a problem not sending in the medical at the 1st stage?

#2 The application also asks for the original marriage certificate. I have the Authenticated Legalized English Translation, Will this be sufficient?

#3 Cenomar is asked be provided, Can not provide original as the Philippine Embassy was nice enough to keep it for their files after we were married and reported it, as well they also kept the original report of marriage, I do have scans of both which does show the seal from Manila and or the stamp from the Embassy in Thailand. I plan on explaining in a letter about these issues. Will this be a problem ?

#4 Forgot to write in her identity document chose "no" on the application. But I have her original NSO birth certificate. Explaining this oversight in the letter should that be ok? The document is already validated.
I have many questions about the different aspects of this whole procedure but I will ask them in time if I can not find an answer by searching that would be relevant to our situation.

Thank you everyone its great to know there is a place we can turn, to help us not to feel so alone during this time of application for PR.

Chris.

Hi, and welcome to the forum,

We have a similar story, only yours went a little bit faster than ours. I'll answer based on our experience.

!). We also applied while "wife" was outside Philippines, but INCLUDED the medical as we thought it was absolutely necessary. If the CIC rep is right, that's good for you since you have stated you can't get on just now.

2). We included an original marriage certificate, one that CEM never returned to us by the way. Order 2 copies if you have the chance. Our didn't require translation, hopefully another member will shed some more light on this.

3). Your wife will actually request another CENOMAR, but what she will receive is actually an AOM (Advisory of Marriage). That is what they are looking for. If you attempt to request an AOM, they won't know what you're talking about - just call it a CENOMAR.

4). I "think" it will be OK, but can't speak from personal experience on that one.

Good luck.

Chris.

When you do the Medical Examination they don't sent the results to you, they will send the results directly to the necessary Visa Office, therefore, it was good idea to get them done, since having them done will save time for your application. My advise would be to submit your application now and do the medicals anyhow, since the results will be sent to the Visa Office, you only need to send a proof that the medicals were done, that doesn't take too long, and if you just wait a few more days you can get the medical done and send the receipt or document that they will give her. That easy, it will save you time later.

About the marriage certificate Yes, the legal translation will be enough, it has the same value as the original. So don't worry about it.

The Cenomar explains that she has not been married before, and was good for you to get married. Therefore now its a document of less value,
as it states her condition of single, which is no more, as you will provide the Marriage certificate. So, again, you can send the scan copy, it will be enough for now.
They may ask later for the certificate of marriage provided by the National Statistics office, similar to the Cenomar, (Advisory of Marriage) but now will state that she is married. So, again, you can send what you have and expect them to call to get the one that states that she is married again. It will be available maybe in the month of October, I think that you can apply on line for that document. But need to wait.

finally, a note to explain the oversight will be enough.

You are good to go my friend, just try to get the Medicals done before you send all the papers, it will save you time... and it doesn't matter how long they take to send the results as they are not going to give the results to you, they will send them to the Visa office, you just need proof that the medicals got done, and that document is what you send with your application.

Blessings

ok thanks for the help, If I can get her to have her medical before sending her application in, Can the receipt or document given by the doctor be scanned instead of original for the proof of it being done?
