Soudless,

Thanks for your compliments.

Well, I wouldn't suggest you to submit or base your interview discussion on email conversation. First reason is that email communication/conversation isn't a standard legal/official document, though emails are accepted by the employers as a proof of employee's job functions. The second reason is that there might exist certain sentence/information which you might overlook but VO could catch it which might effect your application negatively. But if you have other official document such as offer letter, contract with job description that will obviously support your reference letter as these are standard official documents and there shouldn't be any sentence/information existing in such document which could harm your case.

I believe that if you have ONLY a reference letter from your HR/Line Manager on proper company letterhead with detailed job description and you can discuss & explain your job description in details during interview, that would suffice and VO officer will understand that you are genuine.

Off course, this is my understanding & point of view, you are free to decide and act.
Very informative and reasonable, just like everytime. +1

To All,

Sounds bit strange but be prepared for some non obvious question out of the box like:-

Describe your typical work day?
What will you do if your application to immigrate to Canada is denied?
Can you name all of the Canadian Provinces and Territories?
Can you name some famous Canadians.
Do you wish to study in Canada?
Why Canada for education?
What are the preparations you have made so far?
Why did you want to leave your home country?
Why do you want to live in Canada?
What part of Canada do you want to live and why?
Your spouse will be accompanying you or not ?

Non-obvious ??? I would have thought these are your most common visa interview questions ;D

+1 for you. I liked this part "For him it is not a life changing event that effects our families (like we immigration applicants think). For him it is just a job"

your view point is clear
Spot on. I see a lot of members here critical of officers, especially from LVO, with some choicest of words. The fact remains that they are Government officials doing their duty while the applicants are in a hurry to get their approval. As someone who has been in the processing pipeline for almost 4 years, I would think patience is a virtue. Don't lose your cool and don't be eager to prove anything. These guys are trained to spot fakes a mile away. Someone in my family works for the US Foreign Service and tell me of the training the officers undergo to understand even the slightest nuances in the way we talk. I assume Foreign Service officers from Canada are also trained on similar lines and they just want to ensure that that whatever has been mentioned in the application is indeed true. If they approve a fake case and it is detected, ultimately their own integrity and capability comes under a question mark.

We have to admit that there have been enough cases of fraud - the sad part is that sometime genuine cases are also called in for review because of these rotten apples.
