I have filled out the forms for my wife, who I am sponsoring. I notice at the bottom of some of her forms it has a place for the interpreter to sign... would I sign this? I didn't interpret anyting, I don't speak her language, but obviously I have enough knowledge of her to fill out her forms myself. I will be sending her the forms to get her signature on them now that they're all filled out.

Which form is this?

If it is the Imm0008 you dont fill that out... it states "do not complete the following as you may be asked to sign in the presence of a rep of the CDN govt". So no worries there, just leave it blank.

Since you can't speak her language, I wouldn't sign it. Can your wife read English well enough to know what the forms say? If she is signing something that she doesn't understand, sometimes there are problems. If, later at the interview or appeal, her story differs from the one in the forms - which could happen perfectly innocently, since we remember things differently - her explanation that she signed something she didn't understand will not help her with the visa officer or appeal judge.
If she can't understand it, I'd get someone in her own country to read and explain the forms to her. That person should sign.

I agree...she needs to sign it herself..after she understands what has been written...it is important that she knows what she is signing...

yes what happens if she is asked to recite some of what she wrote/but didnt write??? maybe get it explained to her.
