Hi. My wife is Thai and I am a Canadian from birth. I am applying to sponsor her and she is applying for permanent residence.

One is about the travel documents and identity/civil documents required for my wife in her application for residence.

It says to reference the Immigrants guide but can't find the info anywhere is many of the guides I've found.

I have copies of her Thai identification documents from before she changed her last name to mine, and from after where she changed her last name to mine. I also have copies of our marriage certificate and 2 other documents regarding our marriage that came with it the day we got married. All these documents have been translated. Will these be enough for the Identity and Civil status documents that the Document Checklist mentions? (note we have never been married before to anyone and require no proof of a divorce)

And about the Travel Documents and Passports. All I will be sending is her passport. Is this enough? I can't think of anything else. When it says "Travel documents AND passports" it assumes there is some other document that I am un-aware of.

And the last thing. At the end of the Sponsored spouse Questionnaire there is an option for an Interpreter to sign as well. I am her representative and we filled out the Use of a Representative form, and I also filled out the forms for her application. We worked on it together but I was the one who wrote it out for. Does this make me a interpreter and therefore do I need to sign the Interpreter Declaration?

Thanks so much, and I'm hoping to finally send in the completed application tomorrow! :D

sorry for the triple post. I'm on terrible internet here in Thailand and it never appeared to go through, until finally it went through and showed 3 threads! :/ Please delete the last two or whichever ones don't have responses. :)

Did you check the region specific guide? That's where the more detailed country-to-country info is and has it's own "checklist"

Travel documents - again the region specific guide will have exactly what you need for Thailand. E.g. for my visa office/country, I needed to send a photocopy of my passport AND of my work permit, because my status here is a foreign worker.

I also don't think you need to sign the interpreter thing at all - most couples fill out the forms together.

Yea. Thanks. I just found the region specific guide after I posted. I had read it before and actually had it on my computer, but putting together the application has taken me so long that I forgot about the "region specific."

About the interpreter thing I didn't think I'd need to sign it either.
