Hello,

I am a student , 21 years old .

I have been studying in Lyon France and I came here this year as an exchange student to attempt my 3rd year of college at Université de Montréal.

My study permit will end at the end of august , 2016.

I would like to know , can an international student apply for an immigration to canada ?

Or I can only extend my study permit to stay here If I want to do my master degree?

And Can international students apply for PR ?

Thank you

You'll have to read through the requirements for Canada's various immigration programs to see if you qualify to apply to immigrate. Generally, you need at least one year of full time work experience to apply - in many cases you also need a job offer in Canada. There are also additional requirements (different requirements for each program). Before you can apply, you will have to take a language test and you may also have to have your education officially assessed. You can find detailed information here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/apply.asp

You cannot extend your study permit since you are here as an exchange student only. If you want to study as a Masters student in Canada, the first step will be to be accepted by a Masters program in Canada. You can then apply for a study permit specifically to take your Masters (this application will have to be submitted through either your home country visa office or the visa office responsible for your country of residence).

Okay I got it , but to extend my study permit , I understand that I have to get accepted into a master program here .

But to renew the study permit , will it be easier than getting it for the first time ?

or it is the same procedures ?

Thank you

Kindly fulfill the following requirements for study permit:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-how-documents.asp#doc1

If you want to settle in Canada after successfully completing your studies, go through the following article to have a better understanding of how things work here:
http://www.canadavisa.com/transitioning-from-a-student-visa-to-permanent-residency-what-you-need-to-know.html

There is also an official CIC link which you can also explore:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=514&t=15

My advise is to go through all this before posting any questions, as most of your potential questions already have their answers in there.
