I am sponsoring my common-law partner (outland). We decided to use the time it takes to process his application to travel to where he is from (Ireland) and spend time there, work, and travel Europe. I am 23 and have lived in Canada my entire life (citizen), my question is will I have a hard time proving intent to return? He has also lived in Canada for the last 3 years on a work permit so our relationship has "developed" in Canada. I don't have a job offer for when I get back but I do have a notarized letter from my parents stating that we have a place to stay rent free upon our return, I have savings in Canadian bank accounts, a car loan that I will be paying while we are gone. Any thing else I should get or any tips?
Thanks!

Some people contact real estate agents to inquire about housing in the area they intend to live in, and send printouts of these emails. The more specific the better (mention budget, rent or buy, area etc.). I've also heard of people contacting recruiters or HR people and sending printouts of these emails. We all know that without really knowing when PR will come through, you don't know when you want to rent a place or start working, so these emails are kind of futile... but that's what people seem to send CIC so I guess that's what CIC wants to see. Good luck!

So really I should email a recruiter and tell them I will be looking for employment in the next 6-8 months and then send proof of those emails or just inquire about work? Very confusing as I am in Canada right now and will only be leaving to travel and do a bit of work so that my boyfriend and I are not separated...wondering if doing it this way might cause more hassle than needed.

Sure, why not send out a few emails... I know it doesn't sound practical, but CIC likes to make you jump through hoops so that they can tick boxes.

By the way, are you currently in Canada and how long do you think you might be gone? I thought, if you're planning to be gone for like 6 months, do you have to declare that you are a non-resident? If you're traveling for a few months, you might as well give them your parents' address (if that's where you're coming back to) - because you're not going to have an address outside Canada to give them, right? Not saying that's what you should do, but just a suggestion.

Yeah you're right, I will do that the week before we apply! Thanks
We are going to be out of Canada for the duration of the process. We will be staying at my boyfriends parents house and travelling from there. I'm not sure whether I will be a resident or not. When we apply I will still be in Canada, then we will leave about 2 weeks after we have applied. Finding this part confusing...well the whole thing is confusing lets be honest haha
