May I know if there's someone out here who's application for sponsorship within Canada was transferred to the local and office and how many months they waited to get a work permit and approval of sponsorship? Mine was transferred to the local office and the first stage of approval was not even granted when it was transferred to Ottawa. I would appreciate if someone out there can answer this or can direct me to a post similar to mine as I tried reading and I can't simply find a case like mine..

You need to visit the local office and find out why your file was transferred and when you can expect some news. There was a couple on here whose file was transferred and they were told that it would take 3 years for the local office to get to it because they were so backlogged. Hopefully, that will not be the case for you. Almost might be worth it to cancel the application and apply again outland. You can see these threads at

I got a letter yesterday and it says there my file is already in Ottawa and it may take 12 to 24 mos for my PV as there are lots of application to be processed. I only wish my husband's sponsorship will be approved so that I can get my OWP..it is only my work permit I am so concerned as I am here in Canada and I want to work...you think writing to our MP will work??? Do you know of someone where an MP helps and was answered? Thanks!

You can certainly try the MP route. They have a lot more pull with immigration that you do when you try to ask. He might be able to find out for you what is going on and what is the best option for you in your situation.
