Inland sponsorship pilot program-not eligible

I have a question and hoping someone can help.
My husband is applying for the inland application and sending the OWP along with it.
I am a canadian citizen, my husband's visa expired Dec 17 (had a visitor visa, visa exempt from Croatia for 6 months). A month before his Visa expired we sent in a extension as temporary resident. We have still not rec'd any word from cic regarding the extension.
I want to send the inland application on Monday (just finishing the application this weekend)
I now don't know his status and how I should proceed with all this? i'm afraid he is out of status and will not be eligible for his OWP? Does anyone have any advice for us?

Btw - I am a canadian by birth, we have been together for 10 yrs, married for over 2yrs. We were living in Croatia together, can here and now I found a good job and we want to stay.

Since he submitted an OWP with application, he had "implied status" as a visitor until OWP is approved. He was never out of status when his visa stay expired.

He would be eligible for the OWP under the new pilot program. He would have to wait up to 4 months after sponsor received AOR though. Not after CIC received it.

are you sure that's the rule? i thought AOR and OWP were going to be issued together in "4 months"?

At this point, march is really the earliest we will find out what the deal really is.

Then CIC-V can issue an OWP within 4 month of receiving the official inputted data in the system, which is after AOR.

right, the truth is though for NEW applicants as of Dec 22, we don't know if the new OWP will be issued "4 months" from date the application was received or "4 months" from when AOR is received. those are 2 very different timelines. we aren't questioning the backlog OWP. unfortunately, there are a lot of new applicants taking the bait of this new program without knowing what will actually happen. it's a huge risk for visa exempt applicants in my opinion and isn't a reason to apply inland instead of outland.

Lets hope the existing inventory continues to be cleared at this pace next week so the applications submitted after dec 22 will then get looked at quickly!

Who are you to say who is or who isn't allowed on here just because they won't tell you what you want to hear ( namely because it's wrong and should be illegal in my mind)? Suck it up buttercup, you made a mistake, deal with it like an adult. This forum is here for those people who have some insight because they have done it before to give advice to those who have not. That is why they are on here as PR's, they know what they are talking about because they've done it themselves. It's an invaluable resource and they are much needed. This process, can be confusing, arduous and even scary at times. Many of us, myself included, find their advice and support as a godsend. I'm sorry for you in the fact that you think everyone should pander to you and tell you it will be ok. But you aren't five, you made a bad choice, whether intentional or not, and you need to deal with it as an adult. Just come clean and go from there.

I have one more question though, when we were filing out form IMM 0008 question 10, it asks country of residence, status (ie, visitor, refugee, and so on) then its asks from date and to date. I don't know what to put here because he is out of status and still waiting for he visa ext.

Chris he is not out of status, as you applied for an extension he has 'implied status' therefore he still is a valid visitor in Canada. CIC will either decide to extend his visitor visa or very unlikely refuse it. Until you hear from them he continues under the same visitor status as before.

thank you for the info, but no one has answered my question, if any can give me some advice.
As I am going to be sending the inland application hopefully today. What should I put as to when he has his visitor visa until? I understand that he has implied status, but his actual visa expired Dec 17,2014.
I cannot put this date on the application since it has already passed. Should I write a letter explaining the situation, or should I call them to see if his extension was approved? Will they give me that info over the phone?
