Inland pr while waiting for open work permit am i under implied status

So we are awaiting an inland P.R application approvak and due to difficulties we did not send an open work permit with the spousal sponsorship application. I am currently on a legal status until March 14th. My question is if i send my work oermit application in today will i be under implied status until a decision is made or do i have to do another temporary resident extension to maintain legal status

You have implied status - however I would apply to extend your status all the same in case your OWP application is returned for any reason (which would then put you out of status).
