Hi Guys,

We are already in Canada for more than 2 yrs, we recently received our permanent residence under FSW and we are planning to go to the border or just to book appt at the CIC office for an inland landing, my question is do we still need to show proof of funds at the border or at the office? We are a family of four and we will need almost 20k, we recently bought a house so our funds might be be as much as needed to show them anymore but both myself and my spouse have full time permanent job and with decent salary...Can we just show employment letter and paystubs and our house papers and some funds? Did anyone do the same? Can funds be an issue?
??? ??? ???
Your input is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Larxace

For the successful completion of your PR application (FSW), you have to show POF at POE (at border or at any of the Service Canada office...inland).

Thanks Mitali,
Can it be bank statement and cash? Should it be the same amount that we wrote in the application last time? Our funds are lesser now since we recently bought a house. Can the house papers good to show as part of POF?

Thank you again,

Yes, it can be a Bank statement and cash. Your house papers will not help. If the house has not been paid in full then the balance amount on the house will be counted as a liability.

Disclosure of funds

If you are carrying more than C$10,000, tell a Canadian official when you arrive in Canada. If you do not tell an official, you may be fined or put in prison. These funds could be in the form of:

cash
securities in bearer form (for example, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills) or
negotiable instruments in bearer form (for example, bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders).
