Inland FSW - CRS 490

Hi Everyone,

Background:
Experience:
5 years (NOC 2171) in India
Age: 27
Education:
India:
Bachelors and Masters degree in Computer Applications
Canada: 1 year post graduation certificate (Ontario Graduate Certificate) Jan 2022 - Aug 2022
Current Status in Canada: Implied Status (awaiting my PGWP)
IELTS Expiry: 5 Jan 2023
IELTS Score: L-8.5, R-8.5, W-7 ,S-7
Current CRS Score: 490

I have multiple questions:
1. My IELTS is expiring in early January, my CRS score is 490, and last FSW draw held on Nov 09 2022 had CRS of 494 with 4750 invites. With about 6530 people sitting in the pool above 490 score, should I reappear for my IELTS exam?

I anticipate that my chances of getting an ITA are higher in December 07 2023 draw, if they continue with the draws post NOC change implementation on 16 Nov 2022. Should I reappear for IELTS or would my IELTS validity be good enough to get my file submitted and recieve my AOR if I keep my documents prepared for submission.

2. I am currently employed as a contractor (on T4), I have my offer letter with the pay and responsibilities mentioned by my Canadian employer, as the tenure is less than 1 year I am not eligible for CEC. As the employment is term based (1 year) full time, I am not eligible for the OINP.

Should I mention this work experience in the work experience section of my PR profile or should I mention it in Personal History once I receive the ITA?

3. If I do not mention my work experience in the work experience section of PR profile as I do not want to claim points for it, am I still eligible to be exempt from showing proof of funds as I am employed in Canada and residing in Canada?

4. Do I need a Canadian PCC? I have already gotten my PCC for India from BLS.

5. Do you guys think they would briefly pause the draws to accommodate the NOC changes?

1. Best to plan for all possibilities and retake IELTS.
2. I don't know and will let someone else comment on this.
3. I think you would need to show POF in that case but will let others confirm.
4. No.
5. No one knows. Normally there is a pause when something changes. But anything is possible.

Hi Scylla,
Thank you for your prompt response.

I have an account in India which I can use for PoF, here in Canada I do not have enough funds to show as PoF.
Can I use the Indian account to show PoF from Canada?

Given the current situation of the 490+ pool, it would be wise to have the IELTS renewed ASAP. Per your calculation, prior to the last draw, there were more than 6k people in 490+ pool without considering several hundreds of people with 500+ get into the pool every two weeks.

Based on my calculation per the 11/9 #:

A total of 4,750 ROI issued. Based on 11/7 score-population breakdown:
CRS Range# of applicants# of applicants picked (assume no new applicants added between 11/7 - 11/9)
600+958958
501-6001,2061,206
491-5004,3662,586
Total Above:6,5304,750
Total Remained in the pool:6,530-4,750=1,780

In this case, the pool right after the previous round had 1,780 people with score ranged from 493 to 491 assuming all 2,586 invitations fell in the range 500-494.

If the future draw keeps having the huge influx of 500+ applicants (about 2 to 3k) every 2-week, the cut off approaching to low 490 is just slim to me. I am very new to the tracking of each draw and how many people remained in the pool. So, feel free to share more precise input.

Hey, can you do another analysis for today's draw? I am wondering if I still have 5134 people above my score. I have 490 and I see about 5134 people in the pool. I don't know if those are the numbers after the last draw or before the last draw taking place.

Numbers you see are from before today's draw.

Hey, I did a quick check about the #s and hope that helps. Still, the influx of high 500s is consistent with what happened in prior draws.

Assuming no new profiles are submitted to the pool, looks like not all the 491 folks got picked due to tie-breaking rule?

Hey Guys, you think 490 will get ITA on next draw 7th? Will lots of profiles adding every week, I’m scared as little

Hi Nandani, I am in the same situation. As per the analysis shared by most youtubers it appears we have a high chance. Let me know if you're up for a chat, I'd like to discuss our profiles.
