that is horrible.

have you try to call them?

you are over six months now you could reach them for an update.

I have.
3 times...
First time, when it was 6 months and 1 week => I was told that the application is under review (background check), but the agent said I cannot tell you how soon it will be processed.
Second time, when it was 6 months and 3 weeks => The agent told me that he can give me an update only after September! When I asked if I have to wait until September until my application gets approved, he said it can be anytime from now till September!
Third time, when it was 7 months and 1 week => Another agent told me that eligibility, medical, and criminality have been passed and someone is actively working on my application. He said their deadline for EE application is 1 year, that's why his colleague said that he cannot give me any update until September.

Well, I found their system so inefficient! I have lived in Canada for more than four years. Do not even have a driving ticket. I got my student visa 5 years ago, and my work visa 2 years ago. I am just wondering what is it that they are looking for in my background that they have not already found it after all these years?!?

Sorry to hear that it has taken forever for your file. I would say hold tight you have been patient soo far it is just around the corner.
And security checks are not just Canadian Security they do it from all the countries you have lived in and many agencies are involved.

I have been very patient all this while but I think my nerve is now getting a hold of me. My BG has been in progress since May 15th and no update since then. My application will be 6 months on June 9th. Come on CIC! Do something!

I got this when I sent another email to CPC-Ottawa:

I like this part: "We appreciate your patience and ask that you keep correspondence with our office to a minimum." Which means shut up and wait forever!!!
