Hey all, anyone have any experience with inland common law sponsorship? How long did it take? How difficult or easy was the process? Please share your experiences.

Will partially depend on the amount of proof that you are common law. Processing without issue takes around a year but can be both shorter or longer because of current backlogs. Country of origin also can lead to faster processing. For example if your common law partner is from the US they will likely be processed faster than someone from Afghanistan for example.

Hello, SBW. We submitted our common-law inland sponsorship application on Nov 15, 2022 and received AOR1 on Nov 29, 2022. Medical and biometrics for principal applicant (PA) have been updated too as these were previously completed in the past for PA’s TRV extension application.

It is still in progress, of course, but it’s a bit of a relief receiving a few correspondence from IRCC acknowledging receipt.

As for the application itself, it was a DIY. Some questions were a bit tricky and required further research but overall do-able.

Per my research, hoping to receive SA next. Fingers crossed! Hope this helps.

This is really fast with getting AOR in just 2 weeks. Good to see IRCC picking up their pace.

Hello, did you include a police clearance check from your country when you submitted your application? Or just police clearance check from Canada?

Yes we included it in our application as it was a country-specific requirement.

For the police clearance in Canada, we included the consent form in the application as well.
