Can we submit anything via the web form before the AOR?

I spoke with CIC agent and he has mentioned that most likely they will take 155 dollars free from right of permanent residence fee ($490) and will refund back the remaining amount and i can pay 490 dollars when they will ask for it.

On the safer side i also paid OWP fee: 155 CAD and submitted the receipt by Web Form with the following explaination letter:


Dear Officer,

My name is XXXXXX. I am in Canada on Visitor Visa and married to a Canadian Citizen.


My husband has applied for my sponsorship under Spouse or Common Law Partner in Canada Class which includes my applications for Permanent Residence and Open work permit in one package and received by CPC-Mississauga, P.O Box 5040, Station B, Mississauga, Ontario, L5A 3A4 on August 8, 2018.


While paying application fee for open work permit, I paid only for Open work permit holder (100 CAD) but forgot to pay Work permit fee (155 CAD).


I am afraid that due to insufficient funds my application might be returned so I am paying Work permit fee (155 CAD) now.


Payment receipt is attached with this letter.


I will appreciate if you can attach this fee receipt with my application for open work permit.

I had no idea that they could deduct OWP fee from the PR fees, I have seen people get app returned.

Yea no way they will do that as it will be confusing. Whoever told you that does not know what they were saying im sorry. CIC does not work that way i know for sure if you pay extra they will send a cheque back for the extra payment made but never will they deduct it from some other fees you paid upfront.

You've got your AOR in 29 days, that's great!...and actually it's a good sign for all of us because we should get ours in the following days.

Im at a lost here my friend, you said you submitted august 7 and you already have the aor right? Then you paid incomplete fees through web yesterday. They did not return your application? And now you got your file number?

From what i know they will return it without processing for incomplete funds i do not know that there are exemptions. Wow. So they processed yours without funds? Lucky. @Deh_avilla whatcha think brotha?

Hi @rajneesh1987 in your first post here you said that you've sent your app Aug 3rd and they received your app Aug 8th. If so, they are working fast, that's great! We should be the next.

But what impress most of us is that you didn't have your app returned due to insufficient fees and you've got your AOR. As @LeeTel mentioned it's unusual that they start processing any app that is incomplete.

You must be really lucky, it seems then, they got your app and the fee per web form in the same time, so they accepted. @LeeTel it's the only explanation I can imagine for it.
