Well, just met today, ended up explaining our situation related to our religion as an affidavit for CIC. We are at the place where we have left with no other option. Thats right.. we sent extra 492 pages of viber text. ;D

That's good. Maybe you both should write letters, explaining that the religion question isn't crucial for you.
In you case we had a small wedding (only 10 guests) and each of us wrote letters explaining why we didn't care about big wedding and engagement. That we were more excited about spending lives together than just a fancy ceremony. Anyway, it's advice, ask your lawyer what is better to do. Good luck

Hi guys.. Once you receive aip are u most likely to get approved?

Unfortunately not. AIP is just first stage approval meaning you meet the qualifications to apply for PR. You can get SA and AIP and still be refused. Another applicant got AIP almost 6 months ago and their app was just transferred last week for further review.

Hello Nice to meet you. I'm new here and I'm sorry if i'm in the wrong spot. I just really wanted to know where I stand with my application. Here is the information I have.

My husband(RP) is sponsoring me(Japanese). We applied within Canada.
Application received on Nov. 30th, 2015 via Canada post tracking.
I got my open work permit on Feb 27th, 2016.
I got AOR on May 31st, 2016.
I got Sponsor Approval on June 20th, 2016. On the same day, cic asked me to submit extra documents by July 20th, 2016. I have send these extra documents on June 28th, 2016.
I got Approval of the Applicant on Aug 26th, 2016.

After that, I hear nothing from CIC and getting worried if my case is moving forward at all. When I log in to online account to check, Permanent Residence Application Status says application received. and if I click that to see details, it only state those three:

1.We received your application for permanent residence on November 30, 2015.
2.Medical results have been received.
3.We sent you correspondence on June 20, 2016. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

Am I okay? How are do I have more to go? What and how long should I expect?

Hi, it seems they didn't receive your supplementary files. Did you print the PDF file in the request email and put it on top of your file?

Anyway, you'd better call the CIC and confirm about if they receive your file. The agent answering your call should answer that question. Then probably send the file again. Otherwise he will tell you they got your file there's nothing to worry.

Hi all. I am January 6, 2016 applicant. I received AIP and Medical Request yesterday however, I never received any SA. Now, I am due to pay the remaining $490.00. Is it the right time to pay it now when I am ready to send my medical or wait until I am notified by CIC?

Im in Toronto, December applicant. We received DM email almost 10 days after DMs were shown for both sponsor and applicant. Now waiting for the interview date and time.

Based on spreadsheet, it looks like 30-40 days between DM and interview for Etobicoke landing.

Here is the my full time line:

Application received by CIC - December 15, 2015
1st AOR - Jan 15, 2016
2nd AOR - June 10, 2016
SA - January 31, 2017 (both ecas and email on the same day)
AIP - February 2, 2017 (on ecas, no email)
DM email - February 13, 2017

Landing Office - Etobicoke
Medicals and PPC upfront.

Finally. I called CIC and was told congratulations your processing is complete. this was completed Feb 17th 2017, your file has been sent t the local office in Etobicoke and you will be contacted within 7 weeks time frame.
I can't believe I heard those words right. Finalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyy.

I submitted my application Dec 10th 2015.

Hi All,

Aug 19th Applicant here. eCAS changed to DM on Saturday and recieved a DM letter in mycic today on 21st Febuary.
RCMP fingerprinting was requested on Jan 16th.

Do we know how much time it takes from DM to landing at Etobicoke office?

My husband got a message from CIC stating the processing of his application is complete and the Etobicoke IRCC will contact him to arrange an appointment!!!
So many emotions but also questions...will they call or email?
So close but how much longer should we expect to wait?
Do we have to wait for the actual PR card to travel? We are so anxious to have our family back home meet our daughter.
Can't believe it's almost over

Work permit sent September 2016 and received Dec 2016
Medical done up front September 2016 (CIC requested January 2017 so had to send proof of completion. Done online same day)
CIC confirmed medical found and status changed to passed same day February 10th 2017
Applicant status changed to Decision made February 21st 2017 on the dinosaur site
Decision email February 22nd 2017
And now the home stretch we wait for our appointment date ;D

Thats right. We have given every single detail for the lawyer. I think the lawyer is right if we provide our reasons under an oath, may help to satisfy them. Thanks Abra,... I am not so new to the form but still dont know how to rate you. but +9 from my side... :-*

Hello everyone,

I have few questions about spousal sponsorship, could not really find any relevant information in the forum and hence asking it here. Please help me out if any of you have experienced this or if you have heard about any such case and that has got a positive outcome..So here it goes:

I am a PR in Canada for about 9 months now and I want to sponsor my spouse who is going to have his open work permit expire in June 2017. We got married in Canada 2 months ago only to save him from going back to our home country after his OWP expires. None of our family knows about the marriage however his side of the family is aware of our relationship. The reason for not informing our parents is that it would have been a problem getting married so soon and I fear for my parent's approval...We wanna take some time and have stronger reasons to convince my family. His family needs my family to be convinced for us to be married.

So the question: We married with only 4 -5 friends presence and our family does not know about it. Will this raise a red flag or can a letter of explanation be fine with CIC. The marriage is genuine and so is our relationship. We can show pictures for our marriage and courtship (4 years long distance though). We have chats, pictures, letters from friends justifying our relationship...What could be done to strengthen our case?

I just checked my ECAS and now the applicant side says : Decision Made ... so now both sides - Decision Made..

What should i expect next ? is that a good sign ?
